Scrum, managing complex projects in an agile, fun way!
By Christelle Deliens on 27 April 2009 in Friday Session | Comments Off
Last friday, Patrice Kerremans, Mobile social consultant for Between Brackets, came to share with Cleverwood consultants what he does and how.
He discovered this new way of managing a project when he was working on a project for “les Mutualités Chrétiennes”.
Like Ken Schwaber said: ” Scrum is not a methodology, it’s a pathway”. It’s indeed a different yet simple approach to project management and we all found it intersting to see the great team spirit and level of interaction the team had during the project.
Advantages
- Project realized per blocks
- Good rythm during the project (each sprint is a very well identified work package)
- Generate team-player attitude
- Ideal for people who like to be polyvalent and multitasking
Disadvantages
- not suitable for all projects
- not suitable for small structures
In conclusion, following the scrum recipe ascertains you that any project of any size and any complexity will be: on time, on budget and successful… well, no. This doesn’t exist, right?
